Ann McLaughlin

ANN McLAUGHLIN is a native of St. Catherine, Jamaica. She attended St. Hugh’s High School and successfully completed her studies, earned CXC subjects, and started sixth form before migrated to the United States of America.  Ms. McLaughlin completed her undergraduate studies at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Finance and Economics).  She earned her Master’s in Business (MBA) and Accounting (MaCC) at Nova Southeastern University, located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. 

Ms. McLaughlin held various licenses and designations in the field of business; which includes Real Estate Sales Associate (New York and Florida), Mortgage Broker License (Florida), Notary Public (New York and Florida), and Enrolled Agent (Internal Revenue Service).  She is a member of the National Notary Association (NNA), American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) and American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC).

Ms. McLaughlin is the Founding Partner and Tax Consultant at MMR Accounting & Consulting Services, with locations in West Palm Beach, Florida and Yonkers, New York.  This is a full service boutique accounting firm that specializes in Income Tax Preparation, Tax Planning, Business Consultation, Incorporation and Bookkeeping Services.  She oversees the Florida office.  Ms. McLaughlin worked as a Tax Accountant for local CPA firms in the West Palm Beach area, and is currently an International Tax Analyst with a global company, based in the United Kingdom. 

Ms. McLaughlin is a people person and has a passion to mentor, motivate and educate.  She was recognized for outstanding student achievement in High School Mathematics for FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test) and also taught Adult Community Education courses (ESOL, GED, MS Office, and Bookkeeping).  Ms. McLaughlin serves as an Adjunct Business Instructor (Baccalaureate Studies) at Palm Beach State College, and was nominated for the Gimelstob Students' Choice Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2011.

Ms. McLaughlin has been involved in her community through various organizations.  She is presently an active member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. (a professional organization of teachers dedicated to the task of training the youth of America, to cope satisfactorily and effectively with today's problems, firmly believes education to be a potent factor in maintaining and perpetuating democracy as the most ideal form of life).  She also collaborated with the “Adopt-a-Family of the Palm Beaches” organization in West Palm Beach, Florida. Other volunteer efforts include assisting individuals in the voter’s registration process and the mentoring of youth in her local church and the community at large.

Ms. McLaughlin resides in West Palm Beach, FL.  She enjoys playing music, chess, travel, read, and spend time with her family.  Her purpose in life to change the world one smile at a time.
